Deputy Chairman of the Dissertation Council 55.2.003.02 and member of the Dissertation Council 55.2.003.01 at the Volga State University of Telecommunications and Informatics.

He is a member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission on Electronics, Measuring Technology, Radio Engineering and Communications.

Member of the editorial boards of the journals "Infocommunication technologies", "i-methods".

He has state awards:

V. G. Kartashevsky's research interests include optimal signal processing in scattered channels and network technologies. Vyacheslav Grigorievich has trained 19 candidates of sciences, 4 doctors of sciences and is the author of twenty-eight inventions.
